Now we finally know Verne’s origin story!

Or later reveal that the DNA test was a scam?

K-Mart? Is that still a thing?

I miss my K-Mart, so handy, close, and nice people

Calvin came from Sears, so Vern came from K-Mart.

In my hometown, where I moved to when I was five, the K-Mart replaced a hospital. So when the teacher asked where all the students were born, everyone said, “In the K-Mart parking lot. Haw, haw.”

“I thought you came from K-Mart” – I love that line – made me laugh out loud. I’m going to wait patiently for the right moment to use it.

Creature from the Black Lagoon is kinda cool.As young kids my brother and I had just watched Creature from the Black Lagoon and then went night-fishing in a rowboat. Something tugged my line and then hit so hard it broke my cane-pole.I bet we left a wake behind us rowing towards shore.

Canadians have a reputation for being nice, so it fits that Verne is Canadian.

DNA tests like that show your ancestry. But being descended from immigrants does not make you an immigrant. If it did, we would all have to say we were immigrants.
