Matthew Barney was recruited to play football at Yale. I’m not sure if he played. Ivy League is division one. The Venn diagram of artists and athletes may not overlap much, but it does overlap.
So…. what is really up today?!? I am puzzled and curious:
1. Is this simply a one-time comic for Olivia where she has the gym instructor to goad the “busty-lusty Aunt Fritzi” crowd?
2. Is this guy really the art camp guy? If so, what is up with the weights?
3. Did Nancy accidentally go into the wrong room and is in a “fitness” class?
4. The instructor is rather somewhat muscular (which suggests Olivia is trying to goad the “busty-lusty” crowd), but he also is sporting a “cheesy halo hair and mustache” combo which would seem to be Olivia trying to make him not overly “beef-cakey” also (not that there is anything wrong with being bald or having a mustache…. I am both with a beard too, but Olivia is not drawing baldness or a mustache in a “current” sort of way).
So, overall, I am intrigued where Olivia is going to take us next with this. I am not seeing a clear path forward and am looking ahead to being surprised at her next step in this arc.
Pretty straight-forward. Older, balding, muscled-headed, testosterone-filled, disciplinary art-coach welcomes the kids to “camp” – - yet another comment by Olivia about her critics. I feel almost honored, except she’s moving up to mediocre, as Marmel stated. I wonder if she’d take art tips from Ernie, if he were still with us.

I feel there’s a body sculpting joke to be made, but I’m not funny enough to make it work.

I guess Nance is waiting for the cute, well built 18 year old guy counselor who was rumored to be there.

And now we know what happened to the Village People.

It would be great if OJ indulged the fans who want “sexier” characters by drawing beefcake gym instructors and comley transgender people.

So that guy’s name could be “Art” and so the camp is named after him LOL

Will Nancy EVER go back to the original, funny comic? I don’t like this new Nancy at all!
