Well, you might want to say something about getting an education in a field where there are actual well-paying jobs, learning to negotiate, etc. The choices you make count too.
Define “success.” If you get to do what you want to do, you’re successful, even if your income is only so-so.
As for the other kind of success, it usually requires ability, hard work, AND luck. Rich people deny that luck was a factor because they want to pat themselves on the back and tell themselves that they’re better than other people. That’s all.

I think the opposite is true. The people on the bottom end up doing most of the work.

Statistically, half of all people work harder than average. Do half of all people regard themselves as successful?
tripwire45 about 6 years ago
Don’t say “work harder.” Someone will accuse you of promoting a “meritocracy” or something.

Yes, you are, Pig … first, for taking Goat’s advice on this — it’s complete hogwash — and second, for imagining that luck is a path one can choose.

It depends on how a person defines success. You don’t have to be rich to be successful.

Success depends on how you define it. If you feel like you succeeded, you’re a success even if you’re the only one who thinks so.
