I now wonder how bad was Earl in the army compared to Beetle Baily (or Andy Capp in the Royal Army).
No many how years a couple has been married, neither has a right to get rid of the others personal belongings, without asking first.
She’s seen “My Little Pony” too many times.
No jury would convict him.
I’ve got no problem with Opal’s premise, but I have to wonder about her choice of material.
I concur with Opal, but I usually sing “Some Enchanted Evening”!!!!!
Opal, that was kinda mean…
My army sweater was an old and trusted friend.
She should have sang, “I’m Sorry”.
OK, now how will Earl retaliate?
“…and the waving wheat, it sure smells sweet when the wind comes right behind the raAIIIIIn!!”
She should be singing “G.I. Blues.”
Why did Opal choose this moment in time to toss the sweater? She has been living with it for 40 years and suddenly gets an urge to toss it.
I’d go with "I’ve Got Plenty Of Nothin’ "
Code for: I mailed it to Oklahoma.
My mom (a WWII vet) said that instead of reveille her hospital would play Oklahoma.
Earl was very fond of that sweater (and its moths).
Earl should throw something of her’s out a see how she likes it.
Married 47 years and. I NEVER threw away anything of my husband’s unless he told me to. I respected his choiced to save even if I didn’t like it.
Getting a long look down those nostrils in panel 3 would have been enough for me to forget what I was saying.
Well, that’s better than her usual breaking wind.
