Wait. What? I thought she was offered an amazing job with twice the pay and half the work (so she could spend more time with family) and she turned THAT down.
Wait, I thought Marcy was going to be able to spend time with her patients and still work at the pavilion. Her whole reason to turn down the dream job was because she didn’t want to leave her job. Now she’s leaving anyway?
From that last comment, it would seem that Marcy was underpaid. However I KNOW that NY beat cops don’t make a whole lot, and the quality of summer camp they always send Sunny and Jojo to lead me to believe that she was not only the breadwinner, but doing very, very well. It certainly never seems like money is an issue for the Cobbs.
TOALLPOSTERS, My story goes like this; I worked for 22+ years for a large school district, And never thought about retiring, I loved my job too much, Good pay, benefits, sweet and sour interactions with others from higher level and lower level employees, Learned lots of valuable wisdom that only comes when you apply yourself (I know I did) it helped me to promote and advance in the ranks, And then, just prior to my 22nd year on the job I was offered a 1/2 year salary bonus to retire, a once a lifetime offer it was, I went for it, Haven’t regretted it for a second I still have sealed evaluations that I never opened, Didn’t need to, Enjoying every day like it is the last!

I have seen that in real life. They won’t give or offer a raise until you tell them you are leaving.
