Hadn’t seen one but by the time I was in fifth grade(like ‘Skylar’), I knew about them. ‘Treetops’ education leaves a lot to be desired although probably ‘on a par’ with most human educational systems nowadays ! ! !
Factoid: The reason that a female preying mantis will sometime remove the head of the male while he’s still mating, is that apparently, removing the head,removes the mate’s inhibitions, as well. The male mantis is a better lover, once he’s lost his head.
