I remember seeing something about the orbits of the planets being a slow spiral that decreases the distance between the Earth and the Sun by approximately 1/2 the diameter of the Earth, or approx. 3,600 miles, every 100,000 years.
Then they got out and tried to reenact that scene where Leonardo DiCaprio stood behind Kate Winslet. Both were crushed by the tremendous water pressure.
So, was the year longer, the days shorter, or a combination. In other words, did it take longer to go around the sun, and did the earth rotate on its axis faster? I mean, their statement by itself was pretty, well, meaningless.

I wonder who it was that told them about the fact as I don’t know anyone that has lived that long. Methuselah was only around 900 years old.
