Let’s see….200 years…..that would be 1818….Broomie must have hidden it in a good place for it to be that well preserved that it didn’t fall apart in the librarian’s hands (or Broomie’s)

Even at a nickle a day, that would total up to a few thousand dollars. Wouldn’t build much of a new wing at today’s prices.

Rolling eyes. Most libraries, once the fines have exceeded the cost of the book just let you pay for the book. Then you can keep it. I had a friend that actually just told the library she lost it because it was cheaper to pay for the book than for the fines. As for me, I really did lose a book and my dad wasn’t too happy about having to pay for it.

Cheaper to just keep it and pay the library for the book. Did they have libraries 200 years ago?

She’s lucky she didn’t have to deal with Conan the Librarian.
