The main thing is that you exercise. Too many folks jump in the car to drive to their own mailbox ! Aside from daily workouts, my wife and I walk almost everywhere. It keeps the weight down, the circulation flowing, and the joints flexible. More important, it gets you out of the house and into the world, and away from the doctor or the undertaker.

Just walk fast enough to sweat and get your heart rate up. Much less chance of joint injuries this way.

But never ice water. It takes longer for the body to heat the water sufficiently to enter the cells than it takes the body to eliminate it.
