Reminds me of when physicists were looking for the one quark they hadn’t yet found. Someone suggested that it would be about the size of a canned ham.

Damn. That pathogen reminds me of my sister-in-law’s zucchini bread. :)

Ya know, these supposed “Viruses” and such are not ACTUALLY viruses. They are the Earth’s ANTIVIRUS, and they came about in an attempt to RID the Earth of the violent and deadly Virus “Human”.

It’s working on getting you into it’s system…it’s digestive system.

There’s a sequence in “The Andromeda Strain” (both the book and the movie) where they’re using a series of different filters to figure out how big the pathogen is. After the smallest filters fail to allow it to pass from one lab mouse to another, they conclude it’s too big to be a virus or a chemical toxin, and as they start getting to the high end of the “bacterial” range and the second mouse still hasn’t got sick, one of the scientists says something like “hey, this thing is big; I’m gonna get me a flyswatter!”

It will probably regenerate from every little chunk you cut off.

What they don’t understand that the new parasite can cause oysters to grow to unbelievable size over time. So you get giant oysters full of green, spiky parasites. They start out small, each of those spikes are seeds of them.

Panthers, Jaguars and Leopards are too big to get into our systems, too. That really isn’t so comforting.
