That fiasco with Serena Williams would never have happened if she’d been a white male player !
The miserable excuse for a tennis official should be banned from ever umpiring another match. It is not the first time – by a long shot – that he has intruded himself into a match and influenced the outcome.
Whether or not Williams would have eventual prevailed and won the match without his interference, is irrelevant. What matters is the double standards in tennis by the officials – with deference shown to male players who are allowed to flagrantly bend the rules with impunity and not be sanctioned, while female tennis athletes are routinely denigrated.
Like it or not, this is especially true if you are a non-white female player. The Williams sisters are hated because they’ve always stood up for themselves and had the talent to back it up !
