    Not as prevalent as Linus’ other eccentricities, but the “gully cat” was introduced and showed up occasionally in Peanuts lore, even the movies (or at least one)…

    I remember an arc about Gila Monsters. In fact, at the same time it was published (mid 60s) talk about the dangers of Gila Monsters was current at my school, too. Wild Kingdom or Wonderful World of Disney must have shown a documentary on them.
