Well, at least the Trump administration isn’t rounding up Jews (I think.)

Excellent. Really cuts through the self-congratulatory BS of the now famous op-ed.

No… you see… we aren’t fixing the taps hammered into the maples. We are just making sure that we get the buckets.

Maybe this is also the back story to the history of IBM’s involvement with the Nazi regime and the important role they played in providing the technical means to implement the Holocaust?

Making America industry great (again?) was a lot easier back then, I suppose.

Hitler used the “Church Tax” to insure that all citizens paid into a church fund, thus getting advocates in the hierachy of the church to support him.

Trump advocates for an end to abortion and private school vouchers, securing organized religion’s blessings. So many intolerant evangelicals in his administration, it’s all about the vote.

I think some people have been watching too many movies. How exactly are the Op-Ed writer(s) supposed to “fight” the Trump admin? Put pipe bombs on his toilet? On the other hand, the Op-Ed writer(s) are Republicans. Imagine the above cartoon but with Aryanic “Good Germans” instead of Vichy Frenchman.

About as harsh as any satire I’ve seen recently, though not as harsh as a Trump Tripe Tweet….. I should probably point out that more than a few people seem to have conflated the op-ed piece (in my opinion, either written by committee or at least with input from several people) with Woodward’s book. The op-ed did NOT say that papers were taken off Trump’s desk (or taken out of his mouth……..) It did say that people (hopefully, most people in the administration!) are trying to slow down the train wreck, by letting Trump vent (as preschoolers are wont to do) and get things out of his system. And THEN the actual policies are enacted. (Does this remind anybody else of when Ronald Reagan’s handlers were the president?) Let me siddown and shaddup now, but a quote from the op-ed first:From the White House to executive branch departments and agencies, senior officials will privately admit their daily disbelief at the commander in chief’s comments and actions. Most are working to insulate their operations from his whims.

Meetings with him veer off topic and off the rails, he engages in repetitive rants, and his impulsiveness results in half-baked, ill-informed and occasionally reckless decisions that have to be walked back.“There is literally no telling whether he might change his mind from one minute to the next,” a top official complained to me recently, exasperated by an Oval Office meeting at which the president flip-flopped on a major policy decision he’d made only a week earlier. The erratic behavior would be more concerning if it weren’t for unsung heroes in and around the White House. Some of his aides have been cast as villains by the media. But in private, they have gone to great lengths to keep bad decisions contained to the West Wing, though they are clearly not always successful.
