Ten years for us single guys….

I also read that single women live longer than married women. It’s the single life for me!

The main thing is that he survived yesterday.

I have an unmarried 49-year-old male cousin.

So is my son but it was his ex-wife that shortened his life.

Living longer being a blessing depends on the spouse, and your health. Having now nursed 2 family elders I can say I hope I don’t live as long as they did.

It is difficult. However, many of those who die younger Still have a time period requiring nursing care by loved ones. Dying is for the living to deal with.

When I told my doctor I’d read that married men live longer than single men, he replied “it only SEEMS longer”

I suspect this is a social artifact. Unmarried men tend to be at the bottom of the scale, unmarried woman at the top.

It’s probably because we unmarried women have had to learn to be independent and take care of ourselves. A newly widowed gentleman I know asked me to teach him how to shop for groceries…
