Okay, you can face each other again, now that all that mushy stuff is out of the way. Everybody is working as a team now, so the remaining Deadly Sins should be no problem to wrap up! Take another hour or two, tops!
Oh, ah, didn’t Ms Ashwin say that Pride was next? Perhaps they shouldn’t get overconfident?
I love this strip when I can understand it, which is mostly when it pauses like this to consider personal connections. Usually there’s something foreign to me about Kate’s approach to graphic storytelling that makes it hard for me to follow what’s going on. I know I’m missing out!
This looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Which makes me wonder… Will we ever learn about O’Malley’s childhood years? And why he was so afraid of entering the room Henry Barber was shot in?
So interesting to see an accent/linguistic time/slang portrayed well and in detail. In whatever movies or books I’ve seen before, I don’t remember “ta.” Had to look it up—apparently it means “thanks,” not “yes,” as was my first guess. First known use in 1770s, and this is mid 1800s. Do any Brits still use this, or is it archaic?

Another example of the Shakespearean wisdom of Ms Ashwin: intersperse tension with relaxation, harshness with comedy.

The couple that smokes together, gets COPD together. Ask my recently deceased brother and sister-in-law how I know…
