    If they are fruit bats (“flying foxes”), they are diurnal. As for hanging upside down, the cartoon is printed upside down. The “buildings” out the window are really stalactites (except that fruit bats roost in trees at night).

    Most bats can see, those with echolocation see with sound. The Future Predator of the tv series Primeval - Horrat for horror and bat, has no eyes and its echolocation is hooked up to its optical thalamus so it sees sound.
