Interesting how the fax machine is only implied today. Safe to say that many complaints were likely filed about how it being so blatantly featured in yesterday’s strip was too graphic and unsettling for younger readers. Or maybe… the fax is just a dupe, a decoy, a red herring? Vortex was pushing drugs just to prepare the schoolyard market for his REALLY addictive top-shelf stuff: the MIMEOGRAPHED PAPER!! Oh, the depravity of it all… (swoons)
Is Pete Pitchblend that much of an innocent? He should have his lawyer go over things with “Mr. Vorkov,” to make sure he isn’t being defrauded, or, that he has any kind of exposure (tax wise,) from this deal. But this being a comic strip, he won’t, even if VItamin, and/or, Tracy urge him to.
By the time Tracy eventually enters the story, his job will be to save Pitchblende from his own stupidity.
Without knowing if he would ever locate this trust fund, he spent MOST OF HIS SAVINGS on sponsoring a film festival for two commedians no one has heard of today and were old hat even when Vitamin was young? Either this is going to be a small film festival or he is expecting Tracyville’s mob of nostalgia-loving cosplayers are all a’titter in anticipation until they can flood the theatre.
That’s quite a risk to Pitchblende’s future livelihood if this fails.
He’s so dumb that I almost want to pull a con on him.
But I am still confused about what Vortex has up his sleeve. Confusing plot line.
When I first watched The Virginian western series I was always amazed how action was often replaced by the litigation, land rights, custody battles, court rooms, legal battles. Sound familiar?
Pitchblende is an easy mark for Volkov! That’s the bottom line, though many details of the scheme and its various moving parts are murky, to say the least, My guess is that Mike doesn’t really care about the details, such as whose money who is spending—just the general drift, that Volkov is running a grift and doing so successfully, at least for now….

If Vitamin is suspicious, it would be a good time for him to call Tracy.

“Just create an invoice and send it to me.” And that’s the face of a freelancer who knows he has no choice but to fall for that one again.
