As a retired IT guy, a hammer works well on both of them. You just need a bigger hammer to beat the dragon into submission.

When tech support shows up, and is excited by the challenge, don’t worry that you won’t have time for a proper break.

“Dragon Riders of Pern” turned mythology into Science Fiction. Though Lovecraft’s ‘dragons’ are hippo-cephalic and not birds, called “Shantak” the steeds for Nyarlathotep in the Dreamlands. See “Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath”.
