“Dragons always attracted me as a mythological element. They seemed to be able to comprise human malice and bestiality together so extraordinarily well, and also a sort of malicious wisdom and shrewdness — terrifying creatures!”― J. R. R. Tolkien

“We men dream dreams, we work magic, we do good, we do evil. The dragons do not dream. They are dreams. They do not work magic: it is their substance, their being. They do not do; they are.”― Ursula K. Le Guin, The Farthest Shore

“Dragons all possessed their own immense power, and lived freely according to their own will. Now, the fate of the world was dominated by dragons.”― Azazel (Highschool DxD)

“Dragons are incarnations of power itself. They worshiped no Gods, they bow to no Kings. Dragons’ purity of thought to live and die by their own will is what makes them supreme.”― God Serena (Fairy Tail)

As a retired IT guy, a hammer works well on both of them. You just need a bigger hammer to beat the dragon into submission.

When tech support shows up, and is excited by the challenge, don’t worry that you won’t have time for a proper break.

Okay, time to bring out the tanks and heavy artillery, as well as prepare the Apache attack helicopters and A-10 Warthogs for the air strikes.

I hear dragons like a good lullaby, and maybe some chocolate.

Today was the birthday of Ursula K. LeGuin, so very appropriate.

“Dragon Riders of Pern” turned mythology into Science Fiction. Though Lovecraft’s ‘dragons’ are hippo-cephalic and not birds, called “Shantak” the steeds for Nyarlathotep in the Dreamlands. See “Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath”.
