Too bad Tracy wasn’t able to cross paths with Devil as she left Pitchblende’s studio – would he have recognized her? I can see a scenario where he is scratching his head thinking she looks familiar, asks Pitchblende later on who was that, a light bulb goes off – & bang, he has proof positive of a scam in progress…
Why is a plainclothes officer like Tracy using a marked squad? Isn’t SOP for plainclothes officers to use unmarked vehicles? (Although if you know how to look like some crooks seem to know how to do, you can still tell that they’re police vehicles.)
Pitchblende has a receptionist? Where’s he getting the money to pay her salary? I suppose that with the highly speculative film festival and trying to get a comic strip started, he has a lot of business going on around his studio.
He doesn’t seem to be someone who manages money well and we haven’t been told of any money he has coming in. He seems more idealistic than realistic. No wonder he’s getting to the bottom of his life savings.
Ouch! That’s gotta hurt more than some of the battle wounds Tracy’s sustained, when the secretary confuses you with a cartoon character! (It’s bad enough being a character from Greek mythology….)

Good morning™, citizenry advisors!
It appears that Pitchblende’s receptionist reads that comics page we saw.

Mistakes have been made. When the Great detective Dick Tracy is mistaken for a comic strip character…the nerve!

Tracy is quick at figuring out Vorkov, Pitchblende’s benefactor is actually Volkov. Pretty thin disguise, though.

Is the receptionist newly hired, using some of the money he just received from Vortex via Devil?

That’ll teach Tracy not to identify himself when he’s meeting a stranger.
