Between “Sugar Puffies” in 1954 and just “Puffies” in 2004, there was a brief period in the early seventies where they were called “Super Sugar Puffies”.
I only recently learned about Godfrey’s Cordial, which was given to children in 18th and 19th century England to calm them down. The active ingredient really was opium.
Trademark on “Heroin” is held by the Bayer Asprin Co. It was introduced as a wonder drug after the civil war to help veterans kick morphine addiction.
I grew up in the 50s (technically, I’ve never actually grown up). We had at least five cereals which had the word “sugar” in the name. I shall endeavor to recall those names herein…. Sugar Pops, Sugar Smacks, Sugar Frosted Flakes, Sugar Crisp, and believe it or not Sugar Chex. Any others?

I prefer Prostituties®. The don’t go “snap, crackle, pop”; they just lay there and bang.
