I have never been late for a doctor’s appointment in my life. On the other hand, the doctor, dentist, technician, surgeon, et. al. have never been on time. Now, before I get lectured on emergencies, and other unforeseen circumstances, I purposely make it a point to have the first appointment of the day, and still, they’re 20-30 minutes late.

I never liked Novocaine, but the dentist I went to before I got my dentures was generous with the gas

Most of the time I managed to fly over the pain with little problem

That’s OK. The novocain shot hurts more than the root canal anyway. Been there, done that, got the gold tooth to prove it.

That’s just plain rudeness, inconsideration and arrogance. I used to work for a medical clinic, we had the doctors ON TIME and when emergencies arose, we called the patients to reschedule. It was a small town in the country so the doctors had to tend everything.

I recieved novocaine when they ground down a tooth to cap it. (I was in an induced coma for 2 months after I had a TBI while sledding.) The novocaine NEVER KICKED IN!!! It was the worst pain I ever felt, so DON’T BE LATE!!!!

Well, if that doesn’t keep you on time, nothing will! Unless, you’re into pain.

Actually, I find the novocaine, as it wears off, to be much more odious than whatever pain they think I need to avoid. Consequently, no novocaine in the last 40 years, three caps included. When the slight unpleasantness is over, it’s over — not hours later.
