I don’t like the attitude shown on the critter behind Chic. He looks like a troublemaker. his expression seems to shout aggression. Chic looks bored out of his mind. After all his freedom in Unity, nothing prepared him for sitting in a classroom.
Interesting that the wall poster of the baseball player is a human. Obviously, they used a relic artifact, because if it had been hand-drawn it would presumably have been a mutant. And a poster: “Don’t play with matches.”And they’re rote-learning some pretty impressive mathematical multiplication tables. The teacher is either a rabbit or a mouse – see the flopped-back ears. Aaron Neathery is impressive with his attention to details that consistently add more depth to the world.
I don’t suppose they have a digital classroom at some parts of their school, in this day and age? Programming while doing it makes Math freakin’ great.

Ah, rote-learning. One of the most practical, yet utterly boring systems of education known to man…

This is definitely a more buttoned-down colony. I notice that everyone here wears shoes,

4 X 28 is probably not “12” … but I never got to my 28s.

in a world without calculators, you have to actually learn maths

The bully has no manners, and Irving has no class.

There’s no need to memorize the multiplication tables past 10 × 10. After that one just has to learn how to apply them to larger numbers.

He probably already knows the multiplication table.

Reminds me of this song from Hans Christian Anderson: Inchworm, inchworm, measuring the marigolds. You and your arithmetic will probably go far.

Hmm – does Chic’s neighbor’s shirt have a collar (2nd panel) or not (3rd)?

I’m liking the shirts of the future. That collared shirt too formal for school? Swish…instant T-shirt!
