Yeah, that’ll cheer her up alright.

That something that will make Ellie realize that her hubby isn’t so bad after all.

And get the conversation going.

Anne came over for the company rather than the way around. Some of you in here think John is such a jerk, then maybe you haven’t met Anne’s Steve. Or met Phil, Elly’s brother, who used to date Connie, her next door neighbor and Lawrence’s mom. Seems Lynn Johnson did not know any nice men or liked jerks better – some women are that way. I know a few women friends like that.

Time for Anne to disappear for a while.

Well, that escalated quickly.

Wow! I’m sure Elly feels better already!

This will certainly distract Elle from her misery! A little time together will be good for both women.

This was a subject I really wanted to cover. I’d been in this situation myself and had listened to friends as they discussed their own marriage problems with me.

Finally someone asks the question.

Humor can bring the jerk out in characters to get a laugh. Though some take it dead seriously and think this is more autobiography than fiction. Like you @Capricorn9th.
