oh, goofy Gordon has a way, Allyson

Gordon suggests Allyson go by herself to the washroom and get cleaned up. Is Gordon going to help her get there? No. Is Gordon going to help her clean up? No. Gordon is just going to offer to take her home, which is the one thing you would expect a kid in Grade 8 can’t do. Even when he has the opportunity to see her as a real person and not some fantasy, Gordon still goes for the fantasy.

They will either walk or his parents will pick them up.

“Well, I have this idea for a ride service, and I wanna call it “Uber”…"

Now you see Gordon is nothing like Mike.

haha, SUCH a fantasy for young men everywhere- saving the damsel and being seen as a loving hero. There’s a reason almost every old-school fable was about this very subject (okay, not underage drinking, but the whole “heroic male saves & wins the Princess” thing).

Gordon can you drive? No. So how are you getting her home? Are you going to call a taxi? Do you have money for a taxi? Are you going to ask Mike’s mother? Remember she drove you and Mike to this dance and Mike doesn’t care about her. Think Gordon think.

Nothing wrong with being helpful. Make the offer and work out the details as they come up.

Sometimes a teen has got to do what a teen has got to do.

Meanwhile, some kid is looking at Allyson and Gordon, holding up his photograph, where his brother reappears, then his sister, then himself.

She’s lucky that all she got was sick!

Gordon and his fantasy. I was thinking, “Why does Gordon have such a large sword and why is it unsheathed?” Hmm!

If Gordon is prepared to slay dragons for his fair lady, you can bet he’ll find a way to get her home!

I’m not sure if this is the girl he ends up with, but he does have a wife, kids and a couple successful businesses by the time the strip ends. And turns out to be a really great guy. I so wish this had continued, Lynn’s a wonderful story teller.

Just as Michael and Martha get together, have a family, Lizzy is wonderful teaching. It’s a wonderful strip that dealt with topical issues all the way through. I’ll always appreciate this one.

Leave him his little fantasy of being a knight in shining armor. He is a good man for stepping up and offering to help.

She is going to leave him heart broken when she gets back to normal with her friends at school and dumps all over him again (nerd alert).
