We don’t know that Helen Sweetstory is even real (in-universe), much less a mere 22 years old… Snoopy only imagined her details after all. “Helen Sweetstory” could just be a pen-name for a 55 year old ex-sportswriter with 4-day stubble, beer gut and a comb-over… :-P
If she were a real person and still alive, she would be turning 69 this year…wonder if she would have stayed in children’s books or have moved on to other things…
Isn’t it obvious that the digits in her birth date have been re-lettered in a smaller size? At least a couple must originally have been narrower. If her birth date was originally given as 1911, she would have turned 61 in 1972 when this strip first ran. With the retcon birth date of 1950, she would have turned 61 in 2011 and 69 this year. But I wish they wouldn’t try to disguise the fact that these are not new strips being produced posthumously in 2019!

So Helen would be 21 (almost 22) by this strip’s original publishing?

…suddenly, a shot rang out!

She’s only 22? From the Birthdate and the co[pyright year, she seems incredibly young.

And suddenly her date canceled, so she played Super Mario the rest of the night

April 5th 1950 also happens to be Agnetha Faltskog’s (the blonde from ABBA) birthday. Just a little FYI

I am wondering if April 5th, 1950 was the start of the strip? I believe it did start in 1950.

Better opening: “There was a full moon the night of her high-school prom”. Could lead to all sorts of plot twists and turns.

So he skips to where she gets some action on prom night… Miss Helen Sweetstory’s biography is turning out to be a bit scandalous!

Good idea to leave out where the farm is as well, Snoopy. Don’t want strangers showing up there.
