@Number Three In today’s funny strip our hero Mr Andrew Capp has captured the Christmas spirit dashing through the snow in a horseless open sleigh , but the spirit he’s seeking is found in his booze :o) am I right? my avatar today is of the Baby Jesus that we have set up every year since 1979 when we came to live in our new home , how was your day? better than yesterday I hope , ours should be busy but not hectic I hope take care pal and enjoy the holidays.
This brought back a childhood memory. I grew up in a rural area where my father was a deputy sheriff. One afternoon my brother and I were riding the school bus home when a snow storm started. This made the bus late and Dad went out in his police car to look for us. Instead he found a series of stranded drivers. He’d assist one, get back to searching for us, find someone else who needed help, repeat. He ended up getting home hours after we did.
I went for Fish & Chips today. I never used to go out on a Sunday but since I went to the Christmas party at the bingo and going to bingo on my birthday (both on Sundays) then I decided I will start going out on Sundays. I regret not going out yesterday because it was boring.

rain, shine, or even a blizzard, a pub’s patron must get through

Andy has the Christmas spirit and he knows how to get around in a snow storm.

There is an old Ukrainian proverb, “The church is near but the way is icy. The tavern is far but I will walk carefully.”

Probably made the sleigh from ale crates. Or Flo did to get him out of the house.

Neither sleet nor rain nor snow shall keep Andy away from the Pub. (By the way, the power came back on at my house yesterday, much to my delight.)
