A penny, a fortune for a child in those times. What could you buy?

Penny candy was huge when I was a kid! (1950’s). Hershey bars were 5 cents, Kline lunch bars were 3 cents. Ate a lot of Klines!

In the 50s our corner drugstore had an entire rack of penny candies. The ones I bought most often were 2 for a penny, Tootsie Roll midgies, root beer barrels, and Double Bubble bubble gum (with the comic inside).
