Been there, done that.
As of pretty much 2020, are wooden nickels still even being made as well as purchased at souvenir shops?
But… you own Snoopy
Well, that’s how it goes. It is what it is. Que sera, sera. Another day, another wooden nickel.
Charlie Brown should hear the moronic sayings and clichés of TODAY….
Same old thing, life goes on. You know how it is!
Old sayings that nobody says anymore because everyone quit saying them because they were old sayings that everyone said.
Tomorrow’s another day.
You just have to change it up a bit. “Long see, no time”
Cliches are a dime a dozen…
A penny saved is a penny earned,
but who saves pennies anymore is beyond me.
Really, would you rather everyone had to stop and think of something clever and original to say every time they encountered an acquaintance? Would anyone would ever get anything done?
In an even earlier strip, Charlie Brown happily thinks that exchanging a few cliches is having a “real adult conversation.”
Speaking of trite, Charlie Brown…….
A penny for your thoughts.
Interestingly, “long time no see” is a direct word for word translation for a common greeting in Chinese: “好久不見”, or “hao jiu bu jian”.
