In the suburbs in the 50s and 60s it was common practice to have your lawn “sodded”, instead of trying to grow grass from seed. It does indeed look like Charlie is throwing a chunk of grass-infused sod. And at 7 years of age I knew what sod was. All the neighbors were getting it while my Dad unsuccessfully tried seeding. He finally gave in and had the lawn “sodded” when I was a teenager. The sod came in long rolls like carpet.

Funny thing is, Violet says the pink cone (which one would assume was strawberry) is chocolate…
