Back in those days and until the 90s at least here in Europe everything had to match. Bag, shoes, hat, gloves. Just the other day I overheard an older woman complaining “To wear that I’d need blue or white shoes and I don’t have any!” Her friend replied, “Blue would be prettier.”

Years later, angels wanted to wear her red shoes.

The saying in school in the old days, “I’d rather be dead than red” ! A different meaning then of course!

Dorothy did OK with the red shoes so…!

And I should know – I’m a future psychiatrist…

Red may be my favorite color, but that’s a bit much even for me.
