Food is a necessity. Those who are really talented in the preparation are artists in their own way. They choose to create. There is beauty in simplicity and there is beauty in complexity. Over the recent Holidays I prepared smoked ham and ribs. The glaze I made contained like 13 or 15 ingredients. It was fancied up. I questioned the need for such an assortment And variety of spices. But oh my! It was absolutely delicious.
A good presentation can make food appear more appetizing. However, there are failures: https://www.thoughtco.com/over-the-top-restaurant-presentations-4146425
I avoid any place — or people — who think fusion anything in terms of fashion or trend. It’s a pretty strong code word for me, and an accurate one. Frankly, it makes me want to scream, “Die, yuppie scum!” And really, usually I don’t have bad feelings about yuppie scum.

Food is food, why do they have to “fancy it up” so much. :P

I’ll try the pastrami egg rolls, much less confusion.

I don’t want to frame it and hang it on the wall. Just make it taste good.

My version of fusion food is to have lunch like they had a Hawaiian plantation where you all shared some thing from your ethnicity.
