Peppermint Patty doesn’t know how to play hockey? I’m shocked…

Here Patty is playing hockey (in hockey skates), but later she is a high level figure skater (She’s a Good Skate, Charlie Brown). That tells me she should be practicing her double axels (or even singles) and not playing hockey! Funny, all through the history of this strip we never see Peppermint Patty skating, practicing, etc. There is a short arc with Lucy and Snoopy (as her Russian coach), but nothing with Patty. Kinda makes me wonder why Schulz didn’t use LUCY in that animated movie, “She’s a Good Skate…” --Of course, as a figure skater myself, questions like this keep me up nights. LOL

Since Snoopy’s head is wider than his body, the pads serve no purpose.

I find it hard to believe that Peppermint Patty doesn’t know how to play hockey.

Since this is well before 1979, of course everyone is going without a helmet… (if I recall, the NHL rule was you had to have signed a pro contract before a date in 1979 to be allowed to go without a helmet in a game; no one in the NHL qualifies any longer) ;-)

When do we get the first Sumo Wrestler NHL Goalie.

Actually, I don’t remember ever seeing Schroeder without his piano before.

If there were a Hockey equivalent of Rugby where no one wore pads I might watch

I have to say, in the decades I’ve been reading Peanuts, this one is the most well drawn!

Those “chunks of snow” are a bit grayish.
