oh, these optical illusions
You have your idea of fun with snow and Lio’s got his!
Dad: Lio! Escher wants to have a word with you.
How is this a snow fort?
The three-pronged blivet (or blivot), the impossible fork, the magic trident, the devil’s tuning fork, the poiuyt [this last just being tyuiop spelled backwards and not to be confused with pluot]!
Ya wanna see a real-world construction almost as amazing?
I snipped off the first 42 seconds, but I suspect you’ll want to re-run this from the beginning.
I made a frame of one using copper wire and washers.
He designed it on his Esher-sketch.
Oh, does it then play ‘Tubular Bells’?
Just another example of “Relativity” (That’s my favorite Escher artwork. What’s yours?)
This is one of the best renditions of an Escher I’ve seen.
He studied under Escher and Goedel…
Escher! Bless you.
Lio’s Escherizing art is transdimensional. These days, that’s considered a Good Thing, no matter how confusing it may seem….
Wonderful illusion…… great imagination !! Spent a lot of time just studying it….. thank you !
Calvin meets Escher!
Those things make my eyes hurt.
Fun fact: The blivet is the most common optical illusion in comic strips, after the Penrose triangle.
The triangle is fine, but this is my favorite Penrose item….
