Button question: This is a legacy from a time when women — in certain economically advantaged settings — were dressed by their maidservants. It’s generally accepted that the button location on men’s clothing is easier to manipulate. Likewise, it’s easier for the maidservant to button clothing arranged that way; hence the mirror image of button women’s button location. Probably due also to the predominance of right-handedness.
Answers to Luann’s questions.1. We don’t know, but he did have surgery after the incident with the soft drink commercial burned his scalp.2. Grocery carts do roll straight when they leave the factory. Sadly, they also are exposed to a LOT of stress, banging, collisions and weather. Thus they are hard to KEEP stabilized.3. Female garments button oppositely because in the old days women had maids to dress them, and it was easier. Now, as to why male garments button the way they do, is because in old days, when men drew their swords, garments were cut in a way so as to prevent them from snagging during the act of drawing said swords. 4. Toilet paper should hang with the paper over the front . This is how the ORIGINAL patent drawing showed it! it was the inventor’s idea.5. I believe that they are “courtesy nephews”. Huey Dewey and Louie are just one of a whole genre of unexplained “kids”. Mick and Morty, Swee’pea, et al. Alternatively, maybe Donald has (had!) a sister. It’s duck season you know. (Wabbit season! Duck season! Wabbit season!! )6. Baby oil is actually distilled from petroleum. Now, what are foghorns made of?7. Socks, being light, do not disappear in the dryer, although that’s the appliance that’s usually blamed… they disappear in the washer! Generally, because they are LIGHTER than the rest of the clothing, they tend to float when agitated, and thus, go over the spillage lip in the washing machine drum! Why do we “blame” the dryer? Simple… we don’t SORT socks when they’re WET! if we did, we’d see WHEN they “vanish”.8. Girls pick their noses, too. they just lie more about it! (Girls also fart! Pass it on!)9. School buses are painted in colors that are readily visible not only in daylight, but at night as well. 10. Bernice is looking at you that way because she suddenly realizes SHE never wondered about such things, and she really should have! There’ll be a pop quiz on Monday. Class dismissed!
As Al Bundy once put it, “It’s something deep and dark and mysterious, so I know a woman has to be behind it…so, tell me…what is Oprah telling you to do with our socks?”

“Why do you exist,” Luann?
That’s EASY.
It’s for OUR Entertainment.
A BETTER question would be, “Why do Fools fall in love?”
