Cap’n Eddie is not smoking - that is clearly bubbles coming out of it.

The Maine EPA and DHHS will not tolerate any opposing positions - so stuff that in YOUR PIPE and … (Sigh, and yet another saying goes down the tubes!)

Hey it’s MAINE and us Maniacs can do as we wish. And that is a helper cat so it can stay.

Anyway deah, I think just maybe he’s pulling your leg.

I don’t think Cap’n Eddie could brown nose even if he knew what it meant. The results would still be unique. (there, did I do an italics?)

I don’t think those are bubbles coming out of Eddie’s pipe. Notice how they’re always the same, one big bubble suspended about an inch above the top of the pipe. I think he’s doing that demonstration of the Bernoulli principle (more typically done with a vacuum cleaner) and keeping a ping-poing ball suspended in the updraft.

I can sympathize with Eddie, though. My nose isn’t that big, but it’s a perfect ski-jump angle. If I don’t wear a big-billed cap during the summer, the sun plays havoc. But in my case it doesn’t tan, it just burns… and by half-past-July, people start calling me “Rudolph.”

Wiley One:

Capt Eddie would make a terrific stand alone strip. He’s the most interesting character you have! All the others could make walk-on appearances and maintain the story lines.

Yeah, Paulie does all the thinking for the pair, since Capt’n Eddie is a little challenged in that department! Thus he’s an assistance animal.
