I prefer my bluetooth to be the result of blueberry pie.

If all devices paired the same way it would be easy. The newer smarter devices are the easiest. They almost pair themselves, even if you don’t want them to connect.

Talk about pairing – my TV must have paired with the devil of Chaos. All the sudden I have no video – just audio with a black screen. I’ve been talking to my sons to see if I’ve accidentally done something stupid (before I call a specialist for help). AUGGGHHH!

Remember when phones were used just to call someone?

the name was anglicized swedish. From wiki: “the tenth-century king Harald Bluetooth who united dissonant Danish tribes into a single kingdom”

And to Army_Nurse: you must not have used any bluetooth devices yet (like headphones)The first time you use them, you turn them on, and the phone (or whatever) goes looking for things to connect to, then has to “pair” with them, which is they share device info so the phone will recognize it in the future. The next time you turn it on, the phone just says “oh, the BR36, yes I’ll connect now”. It’s that initial pairing that can be frustrating sometimes.

My smart plugs worked great with my not quite smart phone and Alexa turns on lights and groups with little programming. I could not, however, see the point in sitting down to a TV and calling out to Alexa or using my phone to control the TV instead of the Remote which is sitting right there.

I’ll bet that Arlo is trying to play a game he may have just downloaded. Problem is, and I’ve run into this as well, after playing a few rounds, the game will try really really hard to get you to subscribe, for a price, to continue playing and/or try to get you to download other irrelevant “stuff”. I just stopped playing and got rid of the game.

my laptop is convinced my Roku is Bluetooth. And if my wife remote starts her truck it intercepts all her cell calls on the Bluetooth.

I shoulda broken out the wine after spending so long trying to pair a Bluetooth speaker yesterday — Arlo has the right idea.

given his current tribulations with the official Arlo&Janis.com website , I can see that JJ is often overwhelmed by technology. LOL. ;-)

The best design and technology is transparent to the user. When it is hard to use and requires a manual filled with jargon, you know you are dealing with some clunky object that was rushed to market before it was ready.

    I usually don’t have a problem connecting a device with Bluetooth. :-)

Looks like another victim of “How do I pair this phone to something” mania…
