Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
This looks more like a typical man-cave. âI got the beer cooler set up over in the corner, and the TV is set up. Iâll get around to fixing it up eventually, but I donât want to rush it.â
True, that is not much of a man-cave. But it is warm, being next to the water heater, and it has a window. A guy may not play video games there, or watch football, but he could smoke a cigar and drink whisky without interruption. .
This is the householdâs interrogation chamber in which the wife questions hubbyâs recent whereabouts! Notice the nearby sink for waterboarding! Very convenient!!!
But you can tell by the comments itâs fairly realistic for a lot of people.
Â
The only people who can apparently afford the huge apartments you see on televisionâŠ. the ones where âman cavesâ are full of new leather furniture, and all the latest appliances and electronicsâŠ.
are the fictional posses of 20-something, incredibly well paid coffee shop employees who populate sitcoms.
Â
Before I ever heard of a âman caveâ an old friend of mine had a space almost like this in the garage.
Heâd sit in a sagging recliner, and watch an old TV,
surrounded by his unfinished projectsâŠ
next to a TV tray full of bits from whatever he was currently repairing.
Â
It kept at least some of that stuff from piling up on the kitchen table, which made his wife happier.
Looks comfie enough for me.. the sink doubles as a urinal.. handy, and the hot water tank keeps the area nice and warm.. Has a reading light. A good man would find this a dandy retreat.
My dadâs man cave was like this, an old armchair in the room with the furnace and water heater. He had his tools and a workbench there, where heâd spend hours reloading shotgun shells and listening to sports on the radio.
Delbert has told his wife not to appropriate this corner of the basement because heâs hosting a meeting of the âCommittee to Restore the Old Term for the Jack of Heartsâ.
.
.
In other words, he wants to save his cave for the knave raveâŠ

Neither my Dad nor Dale had a man cave, but each had a tv in another room. Same thing!

A good friend of mine (RIP) always used to say that every important project begins with a comfortable thinking chair. Or ends in one, I might add.

Itâs not the extravagance of the space, but the quality of the contentment that the space provides that matters.

I think I saw this one. The homeowners gave Chip and Joanne a $70 renno budget. They covered the chair in shiplap.

I see the crumbs have been cleaned off the recliner in preparation for the Ballard Street Spelunkers Club Meeting.

Heâs planning on making that old door into a coffee table.
As soon as he can find some old cinderblocks.
