I’m not a fan of NBA basketball, so maybe this observation is discountable but I don’t think New Orleans will ever support an NBA team the way they do the NFL Saints – and look how long it took for the Saints to be accepted ( and I speak as a long time fan ).
Football aside, New Orleans isn’t a great sports market city.
If AD getting hurt and killing his trade value was such a concern for the Pelicans, there was a simple solution: Trade him before the deadline. But they’d rather jerk the Lakers around than actually do business.
