Lots of couples change the vows to something that they can both agree to. My son and his bride chose to be traditional, but the judge who married them altered the vows a little so as not to seem too old fashioned. It was in good taste but still sounded good.

Sigh…is this why they write their own?

They don’t say obey any more. It was the only thing that lent a little humor to the ceremony.

…And so it BEGINS!

Respect… married 45 years.

When asked on Amazon what color she wanted her Maleficent costume to be; she chose white.

Those years at Yale Law School are finally paying off.

love, honor, cherish and obey, when I’d tease my late wife about the obey part, she would always say, hey, three out of four ain’t bad!

Wait, did they used to make the groom promise to “obey” also? Or just the bride?

With that marriage, I’m guessing as soon as he says “I do”, she’ll say, “You certainly will”.

I imagine getting her to sign a prenup was totally out of the question.

i would join “go comics” , but why pay for such slow rendering..?

I told folks I vowed to love honor and obey.
