As the saying goes, “if it sucks, hit da bricks!”

I recall a “Calvin and Hobbes” where Moe tells Calvin they’re going to be wrestling in gym class. Makes me imagine Calvin wanting to use his lunch money for a bus ticket too.

Time to get out of town.

Here beginneth the New Direction for this strip: “Little Orphan Lio.”

I mean hey, he has the eyes already. And the crazy hair.

I was expecting more of a lucha mask/folding steel chair sort of direction.

Smart move.

What is that at 11 o’clock in Lio’s speech bubble in panel 3?

Meh – can’t blame him. Hated gym class – especially wrestling or having to be “skins” more than anything.

Then again, you can take out a LOT of your aggression playing dodge ball………….

Maybe he’s on his way to WrestleMania. It is next weekend.

Let’s see, where to go first… Transylvania or Roswell?

Where does Lio’s dad get money, anyway? He dresses like he’s neither wealthy nor employed, yet Lio buys a lot of expensive-looking things.

Never thought the Old Man would fork over the bucks and he’d have to join a “Gag” organized sport. Rather’d leave town.

Back in the Stone Age when I was in high school, one feature of gym class was mandatory boxing. That did not go well. Wrestling would be as nothing by comparison. Get me a ticket, too, Lio!

That’s what i wish i could’ve done in school when the wrestling section came up in phys ed.
