And how was a switchblade supposed to kill a killer ghost…?

Just Advancing in the other direction. May have looked like a Topsider but I don’t believe it was one. No sharp edge knife or needle will damage a Topsider suit. A Topsider would not have retreated. They don’t show fear of mutants instead they show distain. Now dittos know what drives your body into energy overload which is what dittos feed on. Chic fears Topsiders…..it was after Chic……so it chose a shape knowing Chic would be releasing huge amounts of mental energy…..their food……..like the dittos fed off of Holly by tapping into her mental anguish. They built her whole life just her way exchanging her state of mind to feed them.

Duffy: “You really think that was a Topsider?”

    Chic: “I do.”

Duffy: “Topsiders aren’t afraid of anything are they?”

Chic: “I think they mostly just scare themselves.”

Duffy: “Then, why would one run away from a kid with a knife?”

Chic: “… have you ever heard of a product called… Listerine?”

Depending on why the “ghost” took Duffy’s brother, the brother may not be dead.

Let’s hope the “ghost” is retreating as well and isn’t following the guys back to the colony.

I believe that the term “strategic withdrawal” covers the situation.

This might be how Chic gets Wally to leave the colony – pest control.

I was not convinced at first that it was a Topsider, even after Chic said so. But I went back a few years (Feb 25, 2014) to when Wally was talking with Jim & Sarah. It was then clear that what we saw on March 6th was a Topsider suit.

And Wally cut open the suits of Jim & Sarah quite easily, so the switchblade would have worked.

So it was a Topsider, unarmed, and consequently afraid of the knife. This is not a good development for Eden.
