Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Reminds me of the time my sister (3 yrs older than me) and I ganged up on my brother (a year older than her) and darn near convinced him he had been adopted! Never mind that he had clear memories of both of us as tiny babies, we nearly got him!
Are you SURE, Sally? Perhaps in another year or so you might be told by your teachers that you have âgender dysphoriaâ, and youâll change your mind.
I would play this game in reverse. I would lobby my parents to allow me to do things pointing out that my sister was allowed to do them (never mind sheâs two years older than me) and then Iâd tack on, âand sheâs a GIRL.â It was sexist but it worked.
Ah, the double standard rears it ugly head. But, in reality, there has often been this standard for boys and girls. Boys were seen as being stronger and more self reliant. Girls were seen as weaker and needed protection from the ills of the world. In ancient Israel, the females didnât inherit, just the males but the males had to take care of the females as well as helping them obtain husbands. That kind of thinking has continued for milenia. (Should there be no male to inherit, the girls would inherit equally.)

Haha! And that argument is valid to this day, even with gender equality.

So is this pre-âsweet babooâ? Or is Sally just throwing said baboo under the bus?

As a woman, I am SO sick of that âargumentâ. No, itâs not an argument, which suggests reason. Itâs just an attitude, and a lousy one at that.

Sally is going to be the flag bearer of typical wife syndrome. Women are always right.
