I’m low-key kind of surprised that Charlie Brown actually hasn’t thrown sally out despite how annoying sally was to CB later on in the decades

Haha! And that argument is valid to this day, even with gender equality.

Reminds me of the time my sister (3 yrs older than me) and I ganged up on my brother (a year older than her) and darn near convinced him he had been adopted! Never mind that he had clear memories of both of us as tiny babies, we nearly got him!

Males have been subjected to Sally’s line of reasoning since the Neanderthal days.

Thus anticipating entire political and social movements, lol

(glances at date of comic) – well, noting their beginning anyway.

Are you SURE, Sally? Perhaps in another year or so you might be told by your teachers that you have “gender dysphoria”, and you’ll change your mind.

I would play this game in reverse. I would lobby my parents to allow me to do things pointing out that my sister was allowed to do them (never mind she’s two years older than me) and then I’d tack on, “and she’s a GIRL.” It was sexist but it worked.

Sorry Sally, but the role of the feminist of the neighborhood is already filled.

Ah, the double standard rears it ugly head. But, in reality, there has often been this standard for boys and girls. Boys were seen as being stronger and more self reliant. Girls were seen as weaker and needed protection from the ills of the world. In ancient Israel, the females didn’t inherit, just the males but the males had to take care of the females as well as helping them obtain husbands. That kind of thinking has continued for milenia. (Should there be no male to inherit, the girls would inherit equally.)

I’ve heard that before……many, many times and yet they want to be treated when it’s convenient for them! :o]

As a woman, I am SO sick of that “argument”. No, it’s not an argument, which suggests reason. It’s just an attitude, and a lousy one at that.

Sally is going to be the flag bearer of typical wife syndrome. Women are always right.
