quite a jump from yesterday to today….so we are supposed to assume they watched them have dinner, and part ways….but if this guy really is a suspect, why on earth aren’t they continuing to watch him…..not like Bonnie is the only one he might want to kill….
Alt Script: 1- DT: Thanks for driving me to the Convenience. Say, how do you stay dry without a slicker and hat anyway? 2- SMIRKFACE: 100% polyester jacket AND hairpiece. Water rolls right off a both. And they last forever. Guess hold old they are. I betcha can’t… 3- DT: Gimme a hint. Like, had indoor plumbing been invented yet? Electricity? The horseless carriage? SMIRKFACE: Yes, of course…oh. I see. You’re being a dick, Tracy.
The drawing of Dick Tracy speaking into his wrist radio is iconic but, even though we accept it as part of the style of the strip, it always looked sort of like his wrist was coming out of his neck.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen it from this angle before.
We all know, of course, that Joe Sampson, from the Tacoma P.D., is not the Serial Killer, right? As far as we know, Bar Tar recently moved from his Tacoma sportswriting job to join the staff of The Daily, a great metropolitan newspaper, where he will have greater readership. I am not certain whether or not Reggie “Rocks” Tar has been a resident of Tracyville for a long time, but it does look that way. If so, he probably could not have taken part in the Tacoma murders. But he knows too much about his brother’s proclivities to be totally innocent. And his involvement could be even greater.
Is this call to Tracy about to report another murder? If not, then what?
[The Minit Mystery by Sergeant Joe Doherty does indeed begin on 28 April, so we have just two weeks to wrap up this story.]

The brothers are a tag team. This will give Barney a good alibi. I think he knows who Bonnie is and he arranged the date to establish an alibi.

Joe’s driving? Are they using his rental? If it’s damaged during this arc, who’ll pay for it? Joe’s insurance, or, Tracy’s department?

Yowza!
This is why you need to read Dick Tracy EVERY day. Not just occasionally. It has to be every SINGLE day.
Man. So much happened this week. The pace was constant, the story moved well, the art is remarkable.
I can’t think of one other comic where it is so consistently good.
