If Barnabas is even going to have a chance at beating Tracy, he’d better make his first shot count. Tracy is nearly inhumanly fast, and, accurate with his standard police issued automatic.
Barn rat pulling a revolver (which is relatively slow to shoot) against Tracy’s already pointed automatic is a desperate act or stupid overconfidence. Could even be suicide by cop.
1- BARN: I just figured it out. You’re after my Pierre Cardigan! Just like all the rest! DT: Huh? 2- BARN: Well you’ll just have to pry it from my cold dead fingers! DT: Don’t people usually say that about their guns and not, like, their ugly sweaters? 3- Oh yeah. You’re right. But that’s just how strongly I feel about my cardigan. Anyway, here, you can have my gun. But I’ll never surrender my cardigan! DT: Ummm, good?
Snub nose .38 spl. take time to aim and you have a 50/50 chance to hit your target at that range. Tracey has a .45 ACP cocked and aimed. That delivers about 240 ft/lb of energy, enough to knock the average person off their feet if they era wearing a vest. Crook hasn’t a chance.
Boy, it’s a good thing Joe Sampson is around, trying to back that car out of a dead end alley. Or maybe he’ll miraculously appear Sunday when this snoozer winds up.
It looks like Barnabas had plans to use his gun on Bonnie if Tracy hadn’t shown up…
I wonder if this will end the ways that the Sawtooth arc did with Sawtooth dying from being shot ?
I was thinking of the “Sweatbox” type of ending with Barnabas being run down by Joe, or another driver as he runs from Tracy… ( “Sweatbox” wound up running into a train fleeing Tracy… ).
It’s all pretty much been said. Bar Tar is foolish to try to pull his revolver when Tracy has his semi-auto already aimed and ready to fire. Bar Tar is going to go down, wounded or dead. Tracy will smoke him with ease at short range, while Barnabas as far as we know is not very experienced with a handgun. Joe Sampson seemingly will just be a witness rather than an active participant in ending this serial killer’s crime spree. Too bad Tar’s motivations and targets remain so muddled in this script….

It can’t be easy to get a grip on the gun with all that white paint falling down.
I suspect it’ll be Tacoma Joe who takes out the trash.
Gee, I hope I don’t accidently delete this post like I apparently do all the time!!!

for the GREAT B/W pictures so you do not have the mistakes of the colorists because the dailies have always been done in B/W.

It’s not a good strategy to blatantly pull a gun from under your coat while the cop is pointing his gun at you!

Tar may as well try…..with 7 first degree murders, he’s looking at a slamdunk death penalty anyways….
