She loves his lance a lot.

While I do remember attending a few SCA tourneys, I do not recall ever seeing a lance quite that impressive.

The painting is at the Salford Museum near Manchester, UK, having been given to them by one Oliver Heywood, Esq., in 1881. See https://artuk.org/discover/artworks/the-queen-of-the-tournament-164961#; the museum doesn’t maintain an online gallery of its own.

Since the painting was only seven years old at the time, I suspect Heywood was the original purchaser.

The kneeling knight bears a striking resemblance to the artist himself; see the two self-portraits at the bottom of the page at https://www.pinterest.com/treeseed/philip-hermogenes-calderon/.
