Quite obvious that Mike has been the main beneficiary of the artistic improvement of GT.

Ah the good old days.

My understanding was that Trudeau’s still-roughhewn pencil drawings have long been polished/finished/embellished/enhanced by a syndicate inker, to whom much (most?) of the credit for improved draughtsmanship belongs (and similarly for the improved lettering). I trust that someone better informed will correct me if I’m wrong.

Wow, they made up some pretty good critiques for themselves. Come on guys, cut yourself some slack. So you’re not Disney.

And that was only about 20 years of experience and practice. GT has almost 30 more now.

I truly love the old Doonesbury. Kinda kitschy!!

I’m not a fan of Garry’s politics ,but as a cartoonist, he nailed Hunter S. Thompson as Duke! H.S.T. was a high school classmate of mine!

I’ve been reading DB since the beginning. Still have my original pulps too. Though the paper is getting brittle. But, it’s been a GREAT ride!
