Yeah, Mitty, as a friend of a couple of people who survived the Station Nightclub fire (and a couple who didn’t) I’m gonna side with Mom on this one.
Our super sensitive smoke alarm goes off if we so much as singe a tiny corner of the toast. One morning I had our little female cat on my lap in bed while my husband was making toast and when the alarm went off she started purring loudly and walking around me in an agitated state. I guess the purring was to calm both of us down.
