Of course, vampires were utterly destroyed for me as any sort of horror by Terry Pratchett in his send-up of all vampire genres, “Carpe Jugulum”. Imagine a world where, for instance, Buffy is twenty stone (OK, well over 200pounds) and addicted to chocolate… and all vampire presentations from Stoker right down to Christopher Lee and beyond to Anne Rice get parodied to the point of death by laughter. “Carpe Jugulum” - Anne Rice meets Monty Python and is duffed over a treat.

Something’s wrong here…why hasn’t Lucas been humiliated yet?
Edit: Bram STROKER. Oh, Jen. You never disappoint.

Here’s the real thing:

It’s old, dusty, difficult to understand and more than a little strange. You know, just like a real vampire would be. And best of all, no sparkles!

Bram Stoker, not Bram Stroker (a vampire drag-racer mechanic?)

Stoker’s Dracula is one of my top ten reading experiences and imo for sheer horror, creepiness and terror puts every other vampire novel to shame.

“Why don’t you get them bo0th, and then you can figure out which one you like the best. Then you can the whole series of them.”
