Saw a story on the news last night….some guy was SLEEPING, yes, SLEEPING in the driver seat while the car was driving itself (self-driving feature) and he was flying down the highway. He was observed for 30 miles! I’m sorry, I could never allow a robot that much control! Scary times we live in.
Knowing what could happen while texting and driving….people still do it….we have become an obsessed society with electronic devices and NO ONE is this important as to wait till you get to your destination to reply!
Some Interstate highways have roadside signs at intervals, reading “IT CAN WAIT—DON’T TEXT WHILE DRIVING.” They also have little rest areas every five or ten miles where a driver can pull off the road long enough to read and answer an urgent text. I hope people are using them.
Give the guy a break. In the trump economy you need to multitask several job at the same time. That low unemployment rate is there because.. white guys need several jobs just to put food on the table and shoes for the kiddies feet.
Early cell phone days – saw a clown using his right hand to take notes on the dashboard, talk on the brick-sized cell phone propped up on his shoulder, using a cordless shaver, in 60 mph (100 kph) traffic – never did figure out how how he was steering.
Rush hour traffic on an expressway, clogged and moving ~35 mph (do kph on your own) compact car with a bumper sticker “Catch Me Reading” and, of course, the driver with a book propped on the steering wheel,,,, driving and reading…

If he keeps that up he’ll be drawing quite a crowd – at the accident scene that is!

Much like painting one’s face while driving, isn’t it?

back in ’90’s, when laptops first appeared, had a guy at work brag he’d watch porn and drive

Unless this is new, it happened about a month ago. The driver was asleep behind the wheel of his Tesla, and in Autopilot mode.

A couple of things I’ve seen in this vein..

That’s a monk! He’s going to get such a serious penalty when he confesses this!
…
And: He can draw left handed! (I cannot draw water from a well, but if I could, it would be right handed.)

They aren’t watching the road either.

That driver looks like a monk with a tonsure. Is he perhaps ILLUMINATING a text?
