I imagine that house cleaning staff have seen all kinds of things (or evidence thereof).

As a matter of fact, following the Las Vegas shooting, hotels must enter any room where the Do No Disturb sign is up for more than 24 hours. They do knock first.

A college friend of mine worked as a maintenance man at a hotel. One day he went into a room he thought was supposed to be unoccupied. Using his passkey, he walked in on a couple in bed. He said, “l ran out, then ran to the other side of the hotel, went into another room and crawled under the bed and stayed there for hours.”

I have never stayed in a hotel where room service arrives with a vacuum.

Must be from the times when a vacuum cleaner reminded of a jet plane taking off 200 yards away – I know them from my childhood. Our dog dislikes our vacuum cleaners (hand held and robot) and goes grudgingly out of their way, but doesn’t mind staying in the room.
